Mrs. Calderón started her professional career heading the press office of political leader Luis Carlos Galán, accompanying him during two presidential campaigns.
Likewise, she worked as political reporter and researcher for several media, directed the Noticiero de las Siete TV news, and served as assistant editor at Semana magazine and the national newspaper El Espectador. Furthermore, she was assistant editor and publications director for Cambio magazine.
In 1987 she was awarded the Simón Bolívar journalism prize. In 1990, Mrs. Calderón served as Press Secretary during the administration of President César Gaviria Trujillo.
Subsequently, she served as assistant editor at La Estrella newspaper in Panamá, where she also provided strategic communications consulting services.
In 2011 she was appointed as Editor of Diners magazine, position she held until mid-2014.
In the academic field, she earned a Master’s Degree in Journalism at Columbia University in New York.
