Born in Popayán in 1966, he is a lawyer from the Universidad Javeriana. He served during the final stages of the first Santos administration as Minister of the Interior.
He has also served as Coordinator for Colombia of the United Nations’ Fifth Committee, in charge of financial and administrative matters, as Vice Minister of the Interior, and as Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic.
Mr. Iragorri has also worked in the private sector, where he was the Financial and Administrative Vice President of Malterias de Colombia and Malterias Unidas, two of the most important companies of the Santo Domingo business group.
He worked as external advisor for several private companies and during President Santos’ first electoral campaign he was the national tour coordinator.
