Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development

Gabriel Vallejo López

Mr. Vallejo earned his Law Degree at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, and completed graduate studies on Human Resource Management at the Universidad de los Andes, Marketing at EAFIT-CESA de Colombia, and holds an MBA on Business Management from the Instituto de Empresa de Madrid, Spain. He also completed coaching studies at Ola Coach, Spain, and a Senior Management course at Ipade in Mexico.

During his professional career he has been Customer Service Manager at the Compañía Mundial de Seguros, Marketing Manager at the Hoteles Royal hospitality chain, Vice President of Human Resources at Noel, General Manager at Canal Capital in Bogotá, General Director of the HSM Group Mexico, Commercial Vice President for Latin America of the HSM Group, General Manager, Specialized Media of Casa Editorial El Tiempo, and Vice President of Media 24, the latter’s commercial company.

He has been a professor at several universities, op-ed columnist of the Portafolio newspaper, and international speaker on managerial affairs.

Prior to his appointment as Minister, Mr. Vallejo served as Director of the Social Prosperity Department.
